Short Biography

Eunchan Kim is an Assistant Professor at Hanyang University, South Korea. He also serves as the Director of the Data and Business Intelligence Lab. at Hanyang University, where his team conducts research on AI applications for solving heterogeneous business problems, algorithm development for different types of datasets, and policy-related studies on data usage and technology adoption. He earned his B.A. in economics from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2012, and the M.S. in management (concentration: information systems) and the Ph.D. in engineering (concentration: intelligence and information systems) from Seoul National University in 2017 and 2023 respectively. Before joining Hanyang University, he accumulated practical and interdisciplinary experience as a Lecturer at Seoul National University, a Senior Researcher and Manager at Hanwha Group, a Researcher at Korea Credit Bureau, and a Visiting Scholar at both Seoul National University Hospital and Jeonbuk National University Hospital. His research interests include a broad range of topics in information systems, AI applications, data analytics, and engineering management.
